Navigating the Heart of Infant Massage

Not at all! In fact, active babies are some of our best "students." We don’t expect your little one to lie perfectly still; we follow their lead. If they want to roll, crawl, or sit up during the session, we adapt the strokes to meet them where they are. It’s a dance, not a drill!

We celebrate it! If your baby cries, they are communicating, and we stop to listen. If they fall asleep, they’ve reached a state of deep relaxation. Our "baby-led" philosophy means their needs come first—you can always practice the strokes on one of our demo dolls while your little one rests or recharges.

Just bring yourself, your baby, and a sense of wonder! Your instructor will provide a bottle of high-quality, organic, cold-pressed vegetable oil that is safe for your baby’s delicate skin. We also provide all the handouts and curriculum guides you’ll need for your five-week journey.

Infant massage is a language, and you can’t learn a language in an afternoon. We spread the course over five weeks to avoid over-stimulating your baby. This "slow-release" approach allows you to master one body part at a time, ensuring you feel confident and your baby feels respected.

The "sweet spot" is usually between birth and one year old. Many parents find the early months (0–6 months) particularly transformative for establishing sleep patterns and relieving gas. However, the bonds you build in these classes will continue to grow as your child moves into toddlerhood and beyond.

We love it when the whole "support crew" is involved! While one parent usually takes the lead in massaging the baby during the class to keep things calm, having both parents present is a wonderful way to ensure the language of touch becomes a shared family ritual at home.

Exploring the Magic of Touch

Dive in and discover why IAIM is more than a class—it is a transformation of the heart.

For a baby, the most beautiful smell in the world is you. Scents and perfumes can be overwhelming for an infant’s keen nose and can interfere with the "biological scent-bonding" that happens during touch. Our organic vegetable oils are food-grade and let your natural scent shine through.

It’s like a gentle reset button for the digestive system! Our specific "Colic Routine" uses a series of rhythmic strokes that help move gas through the intestines and stimulate the colon. It’s a tangible tool you can use to soothe your baby’s tummy troubles and reduce those fussy evening hours.

IAIM is the gold standard worldwide. Unlike "exercise-based" classes, we focus entirely on facilitation and attachment. We don’t just teach you how to rub a back; we teach you how to read your baby’s cues, ask for their permission, and build a relationship based on mutual respect.

Absolutely! Our classes are inclusive sanctuaries for all caregivers. We’ve had many dads, grandparents, and even adoptive parents join us. The bond of nurturing touch knows no gender—it’s a universal language of love that every caregiver can master.

Touch is the first sense to develop in the womb. When you massage your baby, you are stimulating the release of oxytocin (the love hormone) and reducing cortisol (stress). This creates an optimal environment for neurological growth, helping to "wire" the brain for security and trust.

Yes, and it’s one of the most beautiful parts of our curriculum! Before we begin, we teach you to look for "engagement cues." By asking "May I give you a massage?" and waiting for a positive response, you are teaching your child from day one that their body belongs to them and their voice matters.

It truly does. Research shows that the skin-to-skin contact and the focused "quiet time" during massage can significantly reduce maternal and paternal stress. It’s a meditative window in a busy day that helps you feel more competent, calm, and connected to your new role.

Our instructors are trained to adapt every stroke. Whether your baby has sensory sensitivities, physical challenges, or was born prematurely, we find the "just right" touch. Massage can be a vital bridge for families navigating unique developmental journeys.

We prefer to call it "home play!" We encourage you to practice the strokes you learned in class during your baby’s quiet-alert times. The goal isn't to be perfect; it's to find a rhythm that feels natural and joyful for both of you in your own environment.

You leave with a lifelong skill, but you also leave with a community. Many of our parents continue to meet up for "coffee and connection," and you’ll have access to our local IAIM Singapore resources to help you adapt the massage as your baby grows into a busy toddler.
